The Machine Shed
This Building was built originally one third its width using cement block walls and wood roof. At some time in during its lifetime as a farm machine shed, the building was added to the right (North side) and left (South Side). This building did not have any small rooms inside, but was open in all three sections front to rear, with the exception of supporting posts running down the bulding either side of the main entrance and center aisleway. The metal roof had been stripped from the building by metal salvagers prior to training. Fire was set in the south, middle, and, lastly, north bays of the shed. Hoseline crews were needed to protect the wires from the heat of the fire.

Initially, only the south side had flames inside visible, with only light smoke coming from the broken windows of the building's south wall.

As the fire intensified inside, it was looking for a way out. Winds were light from the west. Flames were first visible on the exterior west wall, around a door.

Meanwhile, the other two bays were not moving very quickly. Air was needed, so several of the boarded uop windows were opened up.

Most of the south bay of the building was consumed before the center and north sections began to burn. Once air was entered into the middle bay, the fire intensified quickly.
